I have photographed Daphne since the day she was born. In fact, I was actually there in the hospital room photographing her birth. It was the most surreal experience that left me speechless and amazed and I cannot believe how quickly she has grown up, as has her sister, Violet. This family has been coming back to me year-after-year for family portraits, and even waiting for my random visits back to Kansas City during my two years abroad with the Peace Corps for an updated session. Little Miss Daphne, while incredibly photogenic, tends to get a little camera shy… and this session was no different. Add near-freezing temperatures and the camera-shy turned into cold-and-uncomfortable. Thanks to her Daddy’s silly dances and Mommy’s warm hugs, we were able to pull out a few ear-to-ear grins out of these little girls before we were all ready to go somewhere warmer. I love how the whole family is color, pattern, and texture coordinated without having identical outfits. Can’t wait for what Spring will bring!
